Born in Sesto San Giovanni (Milan) in 1975. Lives in Palermo

Grotesque figures modeled in resin or clayey materials are the protagonists of Marco Prestia's works. It is through them that he narrates "stories of ordinary madness," staging his own theatrical take on social issues such as discomfort, illness, violence, and marginalization. Hominids devoured by inserts draw attention to our indifference to others, while the mutant world in the recent Bio-morfo series induces one to reflect on the current condition and destiny of humankind. Prestia cites film, television, and numerous authors, such as Pennac, J. T. Leroy, Cipri, and Maresco among his sources of inspiration. His entire oeuvre is characterized by an intense charge of ambiguity, which runs through visionary compositions in which what is real and what is not is mingled.
