Davide Bramante's photographic work is based on a double- and multiple-exposure technique that involves visual and conceptual stratification. In his pictures, figures and what surrounds them are superimposed one on top of the other, giving life to ‘impossible' places made up of excerpts and fragments from different views of the same or of different subjects. Particular attention is paid to the cityscapes of large international metropolises, which are depicted in the series entitled My Own Rave. These works provide an unprecedented interpretation of the world's major cities, the famous and lesser known corners of which are layered to achieve a sort of collage in evanescence. Bramante also draws on film, picking up on sequences from real cult films, such as The Shining or Eyes Wide Shut. His research is characterized by the merging of metropolitan and human landscapes, which lead one to reflect on the limit between reality and fiction and on the media's power to condition through images.
